Nirosoft has seen a substantial increase in its sales in Latin America during the past year. The company has sold three systems for the treatment of boiler feed: an RO system for boiler feed for a mining company in Bolivia, an ultrapure system with double-pass RO for a paper company in Chile, and a containerized ultrapure system with double-pass RO for a power station in Colombia.
“Because each system utilizes different water sources, is located in different terrains, and requires different capacities, the system design must be adjusted accordingly,” says Alex Blumenfeld, Nirosoft’s regional manager for Latin America. “The system in Bolivia will be installed 4,500 meters above sea level. At this height, the rate of water evaporation is different from that at sea level, which affects the hydraulic calculations.”
“Each system has its own challenges,” says Blumenfeld. The system in Chile has to be installed while the old demineralization system continues to operate, without causing any impact on the factory’s daily operation. The Colombian system must be fully containerized, which brings another level of complexity to the design.”
Nirosoft opened a Colombian office in July to ensure the smooth running of its ongoing projects in the region.
